New V6 Sport Trim Added in 2017
The 2017 Fusion offers more options than the previous version thanks to a new Fusion V6 Sport trim level. This model gives you a V6 engine as the name implies. It also adds sporty features, such as a rear spoiler, unique 19-inch alloy wheels, a gloss-black mesh grille, and LED headlights. In addition, you will get all-wheel drive along with continuously controlled suspension damping. This model also features Active Noise Cancelling, which disengages if you activate Sport mode so you can hear the exhaust and engine like most drivers want from a sporty model.
New V6 Engine
You may be wondering where the V6 engine on the Fusion V6 Sport trim comes from since the 2016 Fusion didn’t have a V6 option. This V6 is new for the Fusion but familiar to those who have driven other Fords. The 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 generates 325 horsepower plus 350 pound-feet and works with a 6-speed automatic. It also comes with paddle shifters and a rotary gear selector mounted to the console.
New Fusion Platinum Edition
The 2017 Fusion also has a new high-end trim level known as the Platinum Edition. This is similar to the trims with the same name on the Explorer and F-150, adding touches of luxury. The Fusion Platinum Edition will have leather on the steering wheel, leather trim on the door panels, and leather seating featuring distinctive stitching. It also gets 19-inch polished alloy wheels and a unique grille.
