Get the details on this interesting attraction.

From Humble Beginnings

Back in the 1980s, Don and Kim Epperly decided they wanted to pay homage to Elvis’ legacy. That’s when they got the idea to create a miniature replica of Graceland. At first, it was just the home, but it wasn’t long before Don started adding some landmarks in as well. He added a building or so each year, and over time, he branched out and added concert halls, the Elvis Presley Car Museum, and more.

Displaying Their Works

They decided they wanted to display their work, so they put it on a small piece of land located right next to their house. Before long, before people started stopping along the side of the road to see it.

The couple didn’t stop working on Mini Graceland, and Don continued to add a building or so each year. However, Don became ill and got to the point where he could not add any more buildings. When he passed away, no one kept up with the site and it quickly deteriorated. Luckily, the Salem Garden Club decided to step in and fix Mini Graceland. It cleaned the buildings up, and now you can see it once again. Just look for the golden statue of Elvis: The King is sitting in the front yard, greeting guests. He will let you in for free but consider dropping a few dollars in the donation box. It costs some money to maintain this attraction.
