This spring, the Olin Gallery at Roanoke College will showcase works by current art students, so make plans to visit the 2023 Studio Art Exhibit to see what our local minds are dreaming up!
Art by Students
Each year, the Studio Art Exhibition highlights the creativity of Roanoke College’s art students. Majors and minors in the school’s art program will showcase their work across various mediums, including painting and photography as well as ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, and more. As you explore the exhibition, you’ll see a diverse range of impressions, perspectives, expressions, and ideas, all from the hearts and minds of a new generation of artists.
When and Where
The Studio Art Exhibit will be on display at the Olin Gallery from April 21 to May 5. There will be an opening reception on April 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Admission is free for all attendees. The closing reception will occur on May 5 from noon to 2 p.m. Olin Hall Galleries is part of Roanoke College, located at 240 High Street, Salem, VA 24153.
Art at Roanoke College
The student exhibition isn’t the only place you can see art on Roanoke College’s Campus. Art plays an important role in establishing an atmosphere of creativity throughout the school, and there are more than 1,300 works of art on display across Roanoke College. Some art dates back to the 1800s, while others are contemporary works or even truly “living” projects like the Tree of 40 Fruit, which grows dozens of different kinds of fruit in the Olin Hall Courtyard.
