Get to Know the Trims of the Ford Edge: SE, SEL, Titanium, and Sport

2016 Ford Edge
The Ford Edge is a great option for those in the market for anyone who needs the versatility and capabilities of an SUV but wants a model that is easy to maneuver and park thanks to its smaller size. The Ford Edge has plenty of space, and this midsize model lets you choose from four trims.

Ford Edge Interior

Starting off the lineup, the Edge SE has air conditioning, rear seats that split 60/40 as well as fold and recline, cruise control, height adjustment for the driver, and a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. Upgrading to the Ford Edge SEL adds plenty of features, including dual-zone automatic climate control, 8-way power adjustment with power lumbar for the driver, 6-way power adjustment for the front passenger, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and leather on the steering wheel. The SEL trim can have heated front seats and leather upholstery with Equipment Group 201A.

In addition to all the above features, the Ford Edge Titanium adds ambient lighting, 8-way power adjustment with the power lumbar for the passenger, front sport seats, and driver memory along with upgraded trim. The interior of the top Sport trim has suede and perforated leather upholstery, a sport-themed interior, and a power-adjustable steering wheel.

Ford Technology

Regardless of the trim level you choose, you get at least a 4.2-inch infotainment display, a rearview camera, six speakers, inputs for USB and auxiliary audio, and a CD player. Ford Sync is also standard, giving you Bluetooth, 911 Assist, Pandora and Spotify with your smartphone, and voice recognition. The SEL trim keeps you safer with rear parking sensors and adds satellite radio. If you add Equipment Group 201A to your SEL trim, you get Sync 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen, dual configurable instrument cluster screens, nine speakers, and an extra USB port. You can get HD radio and 12 speakers of Sony sound with the Titanium trim. Every single trim lets you add a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, as well.

Ford Edge Exterior

The exterior of the base Edge SE trim has 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry plus ignition, active grille shutters, rear privacy glass, dual exhaust tips, automatic headlights, and an acoustic windshield. For integrated turn signals on heated exterior mirrors that feature puddle lamps, a keyless entry pad, and LED headlight accents, move up to the Edge SEL. The Titanium trim has a quieter cabin thanks to the noise-reducing front windows and is more stylish with the LED taillight and 19-inch wheels. It also has a hands-free liftgate. The Sport trim has its own sporty styling.

Edge Engines

Most models give you the choice of a 245-horsepower, 275-pound-foot, turbocharged 2-liter 4-cylider or a 280-horsepower, 3.5-liter V6. The Sport always has a unique 2.7-liter turbocharged V6 with 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet. The Sport also adds in a sport-tuned suspension and variable-ratio steering.

The team at Berglund Ford in Salem and Bedford, Virginia, can give you more details about the Ford Edge’s trim levels. Be sure to ask them about the various options and packages available, such as the Technology Package, Cold Weather Package, Equipment Group 301A, and Equipment Group 401A.
