The Grammy Awards

Grammy Awards

Your favorite songs are the soundtrack to your life. You’ve listened to them during long drives, while you’re relaxing at home, and when you’re out with friends. Celebrate your love for great music by watching the 61st Annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 10. CBS will air the show live from the Staples Center and it’ll start at 8 p.m.

Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s Grammy Awards.

Meet Your Host

You know an award show is only as good as its host, so you should be pleased to learn that Alicia Keys will serve as the host at this year’s Grammy Awards. She’s won 15 Grammy Awards during her career, but this will be her first time hosting the show. Expect her to bring a lot of energy to the festivities.

Tons of Performances

You have to admit that the actual awards are secondary. You really tune in for the performances, and this year is going to be amazing. Camila Cabello was all over the airwaves this year with her song “Havana,” and she’s going to perform this year. She also might take home Grammys for best pop vocal album and best pop solo performance.

Janelle Monae also had a huge year. Her album “Dirty Computer” is up for album of the year and she’s also been nominated for the best music video for “PYNK.” She’s been churning out hits, so there is no telling what she will perform when she hits the stage. You can expect something epic, though. She knows how to put on a show, and she will use her time on the stage as an opportunity to entertain people at the Staples Center and at home.

Other performers include Post Malone, Shawn Mendes, and Kacey Musgraves. More performers will be announced as it gets closer to showtime.

The Nominees

There are lots of nominees this year, but two stand out. Kendrick Lamar leads the pack with eight nominations, and that’s not a shock at all. People have been buzzing about him all year, and you can expect him to take home some hardware at the end of the night.

Drake is second with seven nominations. Again, that’s not a surprise. People expected him to be near the top of the leaderboard.

Don’t think the women are left out. Brandi Carlile has six nominations, and Cardi B, Lady Gaga, and Maren Morris all netted five nominations.

You’re excited about the Grammy Awards, but they’re still a way away. You can easily fill that time with a new vehicle from Berglund Automotive in Roanoke, Virginia. Once you get your new wheels, you can hit up various attractions while you wait for the show.
