Instead of sounding like a broken record, take your kids to Amazement Square in Lynchburg, the one place where they can look and touch. This hands-on children’s museum has countless exhibits, and touching isn’t just allowed. It’s required if your children are going to get the most out of their adventure.
General admission is $10.75 for everyone between the ages of 1 and 59. Seniors get in for $7.75 and kids under a year old get in for free. You can also get a membership and go to the museum as much as you want without paying admission. Memberships range from $110 for three family members to $200 for two adults and four guests.

Once Upon a Building
Do you have a budding construction worker, urban planner, or architect? Let your little one get to work at the Once Upon a Building exhibit. The Architect’s Office is the highlight of this exhibit. Your kids can use an interactive computer program to design a home. This exhibit puts your kids’ creativity to work, and it’s super rewarding.
Amazement Tower: From Here to There to Everywhere
You’ll hear kids squealing with delight when you enter the Amazement Tower: From Here to There to Everywhere exhibit. It’s hard to believe that one of the tallest climbing structures in the United States is right here in Lynchburg, but you can check it out at the museum. This exhibit spans four floors and goes all the way up to the roof. Kids get to zip-line, go down slides, climb ladders, and so much more.
Raceways and Voltageville
Your kids will learn all about velocity, gravity, electricity, and inertia at this exhibit. There is so much to do here, but air-dryer basketball is the highlight. Your kids have never experienced anything like this.

Shipwreck Cove: A Pirates Life for 3 and Under
Do you have young kids? Then you’ll need to visit the Shipwreck Cove: A Pirates Life for 3 and Under exhibit. Kids can look around a pirate ship, touch a coral reef, and more. Plus, there is a low stimulation area for children with sensory issues.
