Explore Hands-on Exhibits
How many times have you told your kids to not touch something? Is gazillion a number? You say it so much that it even comes out in your sleep. Well, here, they can touch away. The museum is full of hands-on exhibits they can explore. They won’t just get to touch, either. They will learn with every touch. Take in as many of the hands-on exhibits as you can, including the touch tank.
There’s a volunteer by the touch tank to answer your questions about the animals. The touch tank volunteer is always so patient and helpful and makes the experience even more fun for the kids.
See the Butterflies
The butterfly garden is also a must-see. You’ll feel in tune with nature as soon as you walk inside of it. Spend some time talking to the volunteer inside of the garden. The volunteer will talk to you about butterflies and give you a better understanding of the habitat. It’s really interesting, even for the little ones.

Stay for Storytime
The museum hosts various events, but Storybook Science is one of the best. It’s geared toward preschoolers and held on the first Saturday of the month from September through May. Stop by at 10:30 to hear a story that covers a STEM topic. It’s never too early to get your child interested in science, and this is a great place to start.
