Once you have decided to drive the 2017 Ford Escape around Salem and Bedford, you will still need to figure out which trim level is right for you. The Escape is available as an S, SE, or Titanium trim level, and there are several option packages available if you want additional features without upgrading to the next highest trim.
S
If you are on a budget, the 2017 Escape S provides all the features you truly need, such as a 60/40 split rear seat that folds and reclines, height adjustment for the driver, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, and air conditioning. You even get advanced features, like MyKey parental controls, LED taillights, automatic headlights, a 4.2-inch display, a rearview camera, and AppLink smartphone integration as part of SYNC. Factor in the six speakers, USB port, and CD player, and this trim has enough for the average Virginia resident.
SE
Choosing the SE trim automatically gives your 2017 Escape 17-inch alloy wheels and a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. It also gives you quieter front side windows, fog lights, rear privacy glass, and keypad entry on the exterior. Interior enhancements include dual-zone automatic climate control, paddle shifters, 8-way power adjustment plus power lumbar for the driver, rear air vents, a rear armrest, satellite radio, and upgraded upholstery.
Opting for the SE Technology Package gives you rear parking sensors, roof rails, LED daytime running lights, and a 110-volt outlet. It also upgrades the SYNC 3 system to include an 8-inch touchscreen and gives you blind spot and rear cross-traffic alerts, nine speakers, and dual USB ports. Opt for the Cold Weather Package with a deicer for the windshield, the outlet, and heated mirrors and front seats. Finally, the SE is available with a Leather Comfort Package for 8-way power adjustment with 2-way power lumbar for the passenger plus leather upholstery. Standalone options include a power liftgate, remote engine start, and 18-inch wheels.
Titanium
For the most luxurious Ford Escape, go with the Titanium trim. It has all of the above features along with a foot sensor on the liftgate, keyless entry plus ignition, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, driver memory settings, and ambient interior lighting. It also has HD radio and 10 speakers of Sony sound.
If you want, you can customize your Escape Titanium with forward collision warning and adaptive cruise control or a Titanium Technology Package.
