A Brainchild Brought to Life

The Backroads Blues Festival is the brainchild of Kenny Wayne Shepherd. A long-time fixture in the blues world and five-time Grammy nominee, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, came up with the idea of taking the festival on the road. The festival features fellow blues great Buddy Guy and the young but powerful Christone “Kingfish” Ingram. Thus, it’ll be a night jam-packed with talent and music for blues and rock lovers.

Kenny Wayne Shepherd

Since his early days as a kid making do with whatever guitar he could get his hands on, Kenny Wayne Shepherd has worked to master his art. By 16, he’d already signed a record deal and would go on to produce some of the most iconic sounds in the blues world. Even people who don’t consider themselves blues fans have probably heard his incredible guitar playing. In fact, many of his records have gone platinum and feature several radio hits. But the cornerstone for Kenny Wayne Shepherd and his band is touring.

Buddy Guy

At the age of 85, Buddy Guy isn’t ready to stop touring and making music yet. He’s continuing decades of influential and inspirational blues music on tour and will join the Backwoods Blues Festival this summer. Buddy’s style is all his own and so distinctive that many other guitar greats cite him as an inspiration. Despite his age, Buddy Guy tours extensively, singing and playing his heart and soul out for audiences.

Christone “Kingfish” Ingram

Born in 1999, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram has set the blues world on fire. In fact, his debut album earned him a Grammy award, and he’s a seven-time Blues Music Award winner. With a second album already under his belt, Kingfish is back touring and showcasing his electrifying guitar playing for audiences. He continues to expand on his artistry, bandleading, and songwriting skills, and his talent crosses genres.
