The South does a lot of things right, but two stand out. The south is home to the best country music and barbecue in the world, and you can celebrate both at the BOCO BBQ and Country Music Fest at the Daleville Town Center on Aug. 25. The festivities will kick off at 4 p.m. and last until 9 p.m. Four different bands will take the stage, and you can fill your belly with craft brews and barbecue from the area’s best vendors. This is going to be one epic party, so don’t be the one person in town that misses out. Instead, grab a blanket or lawn chair and head to Daleville to take part in the BOCO BBQ and Country Music Fest.
The Bands
This is the festival’s fifth year, and the organizers have learned a thing or two about how to choose the bands. Let’s start with The Low Low Chariot. You might know these guys from their performance during CMA week in Nashville. If you managed to catch it, you know this band plays some amazing country music. They put on quite a show, so you might have to leave the barbecue alone for a bit so you can take it in.
Oh, and how about Adam Rutledge? This Roanoke native has blown up in the last year. Adam Rutledge and his band signed a record deal last year, and they’ve enjoyed a whirlwind of success since.
The Jerry Wimmer Trio will also be there. How can you possibly explain these guys? They’re high energy, quirky, funny, and highly skilled. They can play everything from country to heavy metal, so expect quite a show.
Then, there’s Jive Mother Mary. This band plays country/southern rock at its finest, and they put on an electrifying show. They are well worth the price of admission.
