Choosing Between the Volvo XC60 and V60

Volvo V60 vs Volvo XC60
Selecting between the Volvo XC60 and V60 essentially comes down to which body style you prefer. These two models are incredibly similar with their main difference being the body style. They have a few other key variations, as well.

Body Style and Pricing

While both the XC60 and V60 are compact luxury vehicles, the XC60 is a crossover SUV and the V60 is a wagon. The XC60 has a starting MSRP that is just $450 higher, so most Roanoke drivers won’t use that as their main deciding factor. Instead, you will want to take a look inside and think about which model is more practical for your needs.

Same Engine

Whether you pick the Volvo V60 or XC60, you will get 27 mpg* combined thanks to the 2-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. This engine will also give you 240 horsepower and 258 pound-feet in both models and works with an 8-speed automatic and standard front-wheel drive. The two models even have identical towing capacities of 3,500 pounds.

Dimensions

Put the V60 and XC60 side by side, and you will notice that the XC60 is 0.3 inches longer, 1 inch wider, and 9 inches taller. Inside, either model offers more than enough room for the driver and passengers to stretch out. The V60 does have an extra 0.7 inches of each front headroom and front legroom. Rear-seat passengers in the XC60 will be a bit more comfortable with its extra 0.4 inches of headroom and 1.9 inches of legroom.

Cargo Capacity

Versatility is a given with both of these Volvo models thanks to their split and folding rear seats. That being said, the V60’s wagon body style gives it a whopping 43.8 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. The XC60’s 30.8 cubic feet behind the rear seats is also incredibly impressive, particularly for a compact. Folding down its rear seats delivers 67.4 cubes, helping it appeal to those who want to maximize trunk room.

When it comes down to it, choosing between the Volvo XC60 and V60 comes down to which body style you feel more comfortable with. If you like a taller ride height and a need every inch of cargo space, the XC60 may be ideal. If, however, you prefer a tighter turning circle and more front-seat room, the V60 will work best.
