You probably dedicate some time each week or month to cleaning the outside of your car, but what about the interior? If you haven’t done more than vacuum it lately, it likely has a ton of dirt and grime. Fortunately, you can follow these deep cleaning tips of your car, so it’ll look like new again.
Pick the Right Spot to Clean Your Car
First, you need to make sure your car is in a good location for cleaning. You want to park it in a shaded area that still has access to light. If you clean in the direct sunlight, the rays could break down the cleaning products, so they won’t be as effective.
Clean the Surfaces
Next, you’ll be ready to clean the surfaces. First, grab a microfiber cloth and automotive cleaning spray to tackle the dash, steering wheel, and other surfaces. Make sure you switch out the cloth when it gets dirty.
Then, use a toothbrush to clean dirt and grime from your gear shift and climate control buttons. Also, if your car has any other small spaces, clean them with a toothbrush.
Clean the Glass
You’ll need to clean the glass next. Choose an ammonia-free glass cleaner for this job. Also, if you have tinted windows, make sure the product is safe and won’t damage the tinting. Once you have a glass cleaner, spray a small portion of the glass and clean it before moving to the next section. By going section by section, it’ll be easier for you to clean the glass without leaving streaks.

Vacuum Your Car
Next, remove the floor mats and vacuum your car. Start with the seats, using the vacuum attachment to get into the nooks and crannies. Oh, and it’s a good idea to push down on the seats when vacuuming. That’ll cause crumbs and other debris to pop to the surface so you can scoop them up.
After tackling the seats, run your vacuum across the air vents before moving to the floor. You’ll begin under the seats before vacuuming the rest of the floor.
Then, shake out and vacuum the mats before putting them back in the car. You should be good to go at this point.
